The information contained in this report was extracted from the West Virginia Workmen's Compensation Fund. The data involved injuries that occurred in the logging and lumber industry from 1978, 1979 and 10 months of 1980. The total number of injuries for this time period was 379. The purpose of analyzing the injury data was to give the authors additional insight into the specific accident types and their causes. Armed with this information, educational and training programs may be developed to help reduce these critical injury areas.
