In the summer of 2005 the WVU Division
of Forestry conducted a survey of consulting
forestry firms in West Virginia. Fifty firms in West
Virginia responded to the survey providing
information on the services they offer, how they
structure fees, and how they market to and serve
their client base. This paper will give private
forestland owners an idea of the most common
services offered by consulting foresters and the
costs associated with those services.
